Bathroom Decor and Designs Trends to Watch

Does your bathroom suffer from a poor design? Perhaps you should redecorate it. With a little bit of work, you can transform your bathroom into your own personal oasis. Today, we're going to take a closer look at some of the top bathroom decorating and design trends.

Claw-Foot Bathtub

This isn't a new design trend, as claw-foot bathtubs have been around for more than a century. Recently, though, they've been gaining momentum in home decor. Characterized by claw-like feet, it's a fun and aesthetically pleasing alternative to modern bathtubs. They offer a somewhat vintage look that's not found elsewhere, making it the perfect solution for unique designs. The only downside to using a claw-foot bathtub is the simple fact that dirt and debris may accumulate underneath them. But as long as you clean it on a regular basis, this shouldn't be a problem.

Frameless Shower Doors

As shown in the photo above, frameless shower doors are another brilliant addition to the bathroom. Eliminating the frame offers a cleaner and more sophisticated look, which in turn enhances the bathroom's decor. Furthermore, frameless shower doors are easier to clean. Without frames, there's really no where for mold and mildew to hide. You can expect to pay more for a frameless shower door, but this cost should be returned in the form of a higher selling value for your home.

Go Neutral

According to Building, Design and Construction, neutral colors are all the rage in modern bathroom designs. The organization cited a study in which 79% of NKBA members said they were using gray as their primary bathroom color in 2015. 77% of NKBA members said they were using white or off-white, and 65% said they were using beige. Findings such as this indicate that neutrals are the dominant choice of color for bathrooms today. Whether or not this trend continues, however, remains to be seen.

Trough Sinks

Another popular bathroom design trend is trough sinks. They gained popularity throughout the 1980s and are slowly but surely making a comeback. A trough sink is larger and more functional than most traditional sinks, making it an ideal solution for modern bathroom designs.

Heated Floors

Wouldn't it be nice to feel a warm and comfortable floor when you step out of the shower? Thanks to the advent of heated floors, this is a very real possibility. Heated floors typically consist of a heat-resistant material through which heated wires run. Once activated, the wires warm the flooring just enough to provide an elevated level of comfort.
